Today we are in the equinox the beginning of Summer time THE AWAKENING. This week a lot of stuff has come up about the many wives of Odin. The first two Jord, mother of Thor and Frigga mother of Baldur and Hod and possibly Tyr are mentioned many times in the sagas. Odin is always seen as the Winter king but the Saxon May Day festival was about Odin bringing his love to the cold maiden Rinda, who was his next wife. She represents the frozen Earth and the coming together of male and female brings new life back to the land, with whom then Odin fathered Vali. By the goddess Grid he begot the son Vidar who avenges him at Ragnarok.
In his final days he built a special hall for the goddess Saga, the goddess of history and stories and spent many long afternoon in her company speaking and reciting the tales of old.  Each and everyone has a place of importance within the Norse pantheon and all deliver a strong message.

Jord...The good Earth
Frigga... Compassion
Rinda...Awakening
Grid....The future
Saga...The past
